✨️Cursed By The Stars is a 10 out of 10!!✨️

    Y'all, this book has me shook. Firas and Talah are the two main characters, and Michele is a first time Author, but that does not mean her work is weak. 

Michele based a lot of her characters names and places on Egyptian places and things. There is a Glossary at the front with definitions of words that might not be familiar to you (definitely not to me 😊) and will help you feel your way more smoothly through the book. Obviously this is a Romantasy, EMPHASIS on the Fantasy portion , it is very LOW spice which I found to be a good thing. But, because it is high fantasy there is a LOT of world building. I love world building, but I'm just giving you a bit of caution about it her because it does take a bit of time. 

Anyhoo, moving on, Firas and Talah are characters based on zodiac signs. They can use those signs to their advantage in the trials. Their are signborns and crossborns. Signborns are basically pure zodiac sign born while crossborns have had to work their way up from birth to gain permission to enter the trials. 

I don't want to give you too much more information about the main characters, where they've come from and all because it will ruin it for you, but just know this book has changed my brain chemistry. 

I felt so sorry for Talah and her friends as they go through the trials, they start out believing they are there for one reason and by the end it is completely apparent they were lied to.

I will tell you Firas and his band of friendd are there solely to protect Talah and several other young people inside the trials that the Leaders have decided are a danger to everyone. Firas is in hiding because if he is found out he will be killed instantly, so he's sneaking even as he is acting as Talah's teacher through the days on how to make it through the trials. Talah doesn't know whether she can trust him, but she does know he is attractive AF! 

Every time Talah falls Firas is there to help her up, even in his snarky, spunky attitudinal way. He had me SAT for him from the very first chapter!! And y'all,  these trials are NOT like any trials you've read before. Talah is having to change her mind midstream otherwise things will go very badly for her. 

There are a bunch of side characters, but they're easy to keep track of who's good and who's bad until the very last chapter, then babeee?!? Allll bets are off! I turned the page, and it was just? GONE! This does end in a cliffhanger, but we're all very lucky that Michele is dishing up the next serving in November so we don't have to wait very long at all. She did just about rip my heart out though, I swear such a DELICIOUS ending!! 

If you love Romantasy, and brand new worlds, with just a minutiae of spice then Michele Khalil is definitely the Woman for you!
