🩸Fantastic Romantasy with AMAZING Vampire Wars!🩸

   The Serpent & The Wings of The Night by Carissa Broadbent is absolutely FASCINATING! If you enjoy Fantasy with trials and games, and Vampires (lots of different kinds of Vampires), gods, and magic, then Carissa has written the perfect book for you!

Oraya is a human who is originally saved by Victor, King of the Nightborn Vampires,  during an uprising of the Rishan Vampires. She is tough, but sensitive, and as tough as she is she is still terrified of Vampires, even though she's spent her entire life surrounded by them. 

Almost as soon as she starts the Kejari trials for the Goddess Nyaxia, Oraya starts running into problems with the various Vampires and their different magicks. Even Victor cannot keep up with the healing potions to keep Oraya well, and when she's cornered in the greenhouse she's really badly injured and meets Raihn and Mische. 

Even though Raihn assures Oraya that she's safe with him and Mische uses her magick to help heal her Oraya is still terrified and refuses to move upstairs with them. 

Raighn is fabulous, and works his hardest to get the three of them through each of the trials, but WOW! the trials are difficult! This is NOT a Hunger Games version of trials and games, there are Vampires dying everywhere, and the magick they have is just downright deadly and fascinating. 

As Raihn and Oyara work together better during the trials they get closer, and the attraction becomes more and more obvious. It becomes easier to see Raihn's leftover humanity throughout the book, and how much he hates the Vampire community he's forced to work with. 

As the Kejari trials ramp up there's a twist almost right at the very last two chapters that I never saw coming, and made me run right out and get the second book (like right then!!) 

So, if you like games and trials, Fantasy with God's and Godesses, and humans and Vampires. A really wacked out father/daughter relationship, and a slow burn Romance that just gets HOTTER as the pages turn then The Serpent & The Wings of The Night is for you. Carissa Broadbent wrote the doors off this and I cannot WAIT to start The Ashes & The Star-Cursed King.
