“Ah, la douleur exquise.”  Literally translated, it means exquisite pain. 

I am in love with the beauty of this book! Tyson and Dina are an excellent example of enemies to lovers, but oh what beautiful lovers they would make from page one if only Tyson could get out of his own way!!

Dina is fantastic, richly textured, her character so beautifully glowing from the very beginning, I don't know how anyone could not immediately fall in love with her. Not just her looks, but her intelligence, her sass, her willingness to stand up for herself no matter what it costs her, even her nickname does it for me! 

Tyson is PURE sex on a stick!! His eyelashes, the lushness of his lips, his hidden vulnerability, and his determination to protect his woman - even when he's overreacting, and she doesn't really need it in that moment. That little hot jealous/possessive streak does it all for me. Even when he spends half the book confused about what he really wants, and so hurt by words flung at him out of anger so long ago (I absolutely felt a kindred spirit with him in that confrontation with Tina Wilde!!)

On top of the Romantic aspects of The Daredevil, the suspense and back and forth between Dina, Tyson, and George Dupont III was riveting! I loved the back and forth where Dina was hunting the information she needed, the tension in that 24 hours was nail biting, I thought Tyson and I were going to lose our minds together!! And Dylan Allen does not shy away from the sexy aspects... the scene in the bathroom? Holy hot dang, that's one of the hottest scenes I've read all year!! 

Every 1001 Dark Nights Novella is exquisitely built so that even if the book is a little shorter than what I'm used to reading from Ms. Allen it still has all the necessary components to make it a successful novel. The only downside is that I'd like a whole new novel with Tyson and Dina off to work together again, they are pure magic!
