Kelsey Kingsley's first murder mystery is a homerun!!

A Circle of Crows started out making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and didn't end until I had goosebumps everywhere!

Rosie is a single mom, with (seriously!) the teenager from hell, doing her best to co-parent with an ex-husband who has managed to remain close friends. She is living vicariously through her sister Gracie who is off in Scotland spending what should have been her honeymoon, but wound up being a solo trip when Gracie came upon her fiance having sex with his best friends wife right before the wedding. When Gracie doesn't make her flight home from Aberdeen, and is suddenly unreachable by cell, Rosie and her son fly to Scotland to find her.

Alec Brodie is an Inspector (police officer) who has had to come home from Edinburgh to Fort Crow, Scotland to help look after his father who has dementia and all he knows is he never wanted to be here again. Nothing ever happens in Fort Crow, until it does, and suddenly Alec and Rosie are forced into a meeting that is anything but cute.

Rosie and Alec's relationship is the DEFENITION of slow burn, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Not really friends to lovers, and definitely not enemies to lovers, these two just try everything they can to avoid falling for each other.

Kelsey Kingsley has two characters that are both suffering from some pretty serious depression and loss, and they strike out at each other and there is such a beauty in the darkness of their burgeoning love. I really hope we'll see these characters again, I think they have MUCH more to say!!
