🖤✨Below are the reviews for all five books in Anne Malcom's Unquiet Mind Boxset, I first read some of these books three and four years ago and so I did not have reviews up for them so I've spent the last three days re-reading, and crying and falling in love with Lexie, Sam, Wyatt, and Noah all over again. Echoes of Silence
Book 1 - Watching Killian and Lexie come together, no matter how many times I've read this book, is one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen in a book anywhere.
I love the relationship between Lexie and her Mama, those are Mom/daughter goals for tons of us, the love they share is so special! One of the best things about this series is that it focuses on all the members of Unquiet Mind. We get to learn Lexie, Noah, Sam, and Wyatt as individuals, and as a band, and no one individual shines ahead of any other.
I understand the ending, everyone needs to grow, but bring the tissues and the wine - you'll need it!
Book 2:
Skeletons of Us
"My heart lingers in the bones ground to dust In the skeletons of us"
Hearing Lexie sing Skeletons of Us as I read while Killian watched almost broke me to pieces. My heart bleeds for them both.
"The person that has the power to hurt you but will give you a thousand days of happiness and only a second of pain. I think that’s worth it. Don’t you?”
This book is probably my favourite from a suspense level, Anne Malcom is a genius when it comes to creating bad guys to be hunted down by Sons of Templar and Greenstone Security, all making appearances throughout this book.
Book Three:
Broken Shelves:
This book shoves Gina into the spotlight, whether she wanted to be there or not, and showed both she and Sam, that even though she thought she was weak and small, Gina is a complete BADA$$ and is there to save them both. But first Sam and Lexie have to show her how to save that last little piece of herself she keeps trying to squash.
This book reminds me always that it is OKAY to be fierce, to take up space, and NEVER apologize for it!!
Book Four:
Mistakes Melody
Emma and Wyatt met fighting, and they've continued for almost a decade. Wyatt - 1/4 of the group Unquiet Minds and Emma - the sad girl whose parents were completely destructive in a way few will ever understand.
For everyone of Anne Malcom's stories I have to be in the right place at the right time, but with all of them I come away a little bit more loved, a little bit stronger that she loves these characters, and her stories enough to share them.
Book Five
Censored Soul
This book had me circling it for a week. Really the only author I've read in the last year that broke me down more and more each time. I was expecting this book to tear me apart, and in certain ways it did. I closed it on the 2nd page, not sure what Anne was going to put me through.
A soft, slow burn goodbye to Unquiet Minds. Noah would approve of it ending this way. Worth at least 7 stars.
