"Evil was really good at wearing the mask of normal.
It fooled people.
Michael's mask fooled me. Fooled my parents. Fooled everyone he'd ever been in contact with.
But he would never fool me again."

Raegan is living in Navesink Bank running Devil Tears... and stalking the man paying Nixon to find out who's stalking him. Nixon just wanted Raegan to stop stalking the a$$hole paying him a ton of money, so Nixon could close the case. Well, that, and he wanted Raegan to go to lunch with him at the Mallicks because if he didn't find a date Helen Mallick wouldn't let him eat.

When Raegan breaks down outside the Mallicks home after a fun filled afternoon with all the Mallick/Rivers/Henchmen clan, Nixon knows there's something big he's missing. He might have expected her to kill him after dropping her with Helen, and promptly abandoning to go hang out with his brothers, but crying wasn't expected at all. When she finally tells him, it was nothing he would have ever expected, be damned if Nixon doesn't know all the characters in Navesink to help Raegan with her problem. He could never predicted what happened next.

A beautiful 5⭐ treat from Jessica Gadziala who appears to be growing her Navesink Bank world with the side characters in Lock You Down, and I can't wait to see who she gives us next. Occasionally funny bc Nixon really is a surly man, occasionally sad but in all the best ways because Ms. Gadziala knows how to heal with her words.
