⚙️ Smooth Sailing is a SWEET RIDE back into CHAOS!!⚙️
I'm so thrilled to be back on Kristen Ashley's Chaos! Harlan is definitely a green flag guy, sweet all the way to his core, but at the same time has his own issues of thinking he's not good enough, that he should just make do with survival for the rest of his existence. When he gets the order to get to Phoenix to watch over Diana he has no idea how drastically his life is about to change and what he might do to keep it that way.
Diana is an awesome FMC! She doesn't let anyone take up her space, but at the same time she gives to everyone around her - sometimes until she's about to drop! She doesn't know why Chaos has shown up to protect her, but she does know she's in over her head and could use the help. She also knows Harlan pushes all her buttons, both good and bad! He wants to tell her want to do for crying out loud (in a gentle way!)
Smooth Sailing is one of the most laid back MC Romance I've read in a while, while still having the bad guys doing horrifically bad things. It's just that most of the bad things happened prior to the book starting - even if they are explained on the page (so watch your content warnings.)
I loved Harlan and Diana riding on his bike, after the argument about her hair - she's never been on a bike especially in town and doesn't really understand they're not going to be going 80 mph. The banter between Diana and the other bikers that have come down is absolutely hilarious, as well as seeing them all really grown up. They're all here from Roscoe all the way to Big Petey who does an excellent job taking care of both Diana and Harlan, and explaining to both what their purpose in each other's lives is.
There are a few areas in this book that made me break down in big, fat tears, bawling like a two year old and Kristen Ashley as always knows how to write those sections to leave you feeling comforted at the end, even if you thought your heart might never recover at the beginning. Trust her writing, Ms. Ashley always knows where she's taking you.
I'm looking forward to more Chaos after this, what a gorgeous new beginning!!
