Sierra Simone is telling us a retelling of Tristan and Isolde, and she came to play. Mark and Isolde are not young people that are naive, careless, or relentless in their fight to get to each other or their their fight to stay away from each other. 

Isolde, being trained by the nuns and her Uncle her whole life that she only has one purpose, must now pivot that purpose to come out ahead of Mark to ensure she brings all the information to her Uncle. But, I don’t think they prepared Isolde well enough, and the gentleman that used to work for the CIA comes out ahead. It's easy for him to encourage him to fall in love with her - he just did not plan what would happen when he chose to hurt her this way. How easy he chose to hone her into a weapon, definitely against himself, but maybe also againt her Uncle.

I absolutely adore the passion and beauty of Sierra Simone's writing. How easy it is for her to show us the pain both Mark and Isolde seem to be going through, but at the turn of his head one never knows if Mark is actually suffering, or if he only intended Isolde to be tortured in that same way. I also wonder if her Uncle and her father are in on helping Mark torture her mentally just to teach her that all women are inferior to them.

I loved the ending, it is a heck of a cliff hanger, bit simce this book is already live, and Salt Kiss releases September 12, you dont have that long to have all of your questions answered! And boooooy do I have a lot of questions that got dumped on me right at the end there!! Where is Mark? How did Tristan just show up? Is Isolde safe?? Why oh WHY does Sierra Simone make my head spin with the most beautiful chapters at the very bitter end, always? Every.Single.Time???

Don't worry you do NOT have to have read The New Camelot Trilogy to read Lyonesse, you'll just understand all the easter eggs a little bit better. Ta ta for now!! Sierra Simone has written a gorgeous, smutty little book, and i think I want to go re-read it again! 😉❤️‍🔥
