Even when she makes me cry, I know there's going to be a Happily Ever Aft“You make me forget to be anxious. You make me feel like I’m enough,” she whispered against his lips. Sweet Memory is glorious! Paisley and Jonas are everything I want in the beginning couple of a series - so sweet, yet struggling, fighting so hard to be together while it seems that Landry is fighting so hard to keep them apart.
"Stop! she shouted silently at her brain. Landry wouldn’t turn on Paisley even if they disagreed about Jonas. One thing― one person― couldn’t undo eighteen years of sisterhood, right?"
Paisley has worked so hard to overcome her anxiety but her family, and sometimes even the band, want to keep her in the persona of "little bit" while she is steadily trying to push forward. I loved her growth and strength so much, she just shines like the star she is!!
Jonas has so much growth to do at the beginning of Sweet Memory. Not that he would ever really hurt anyone, but his temper is sometimes overflowing and can be a little scary to those who aren't used to seeing people that can explode like that.
I think that Landry uses Jonas explosive moments as an excuse to come between him and Paisley, even though she knows Jonas will be exactly what Paisley needs as the Painted Daisies move forward. Will Jonas and Paisley be able to stay together, or will life and cruel tragedy force them apart?
Five out of five stars for a glorious beginning to the Painted Daisies start with Sweet Memory! LJ Evans has hit it out of the park, and I can't WAIT to see where she goes next with book two - Green Jewel!
