🖤✨️ One Of My Favorites This Year!!✨️🖤

Kelsey Kingsley's The Hero In Her Story is SPECTACULAR!! Every time I think I've found my favorite book by her, I'm brought up short in the knowledge that she has outdone herself again.

Tarryn and Connor are so special, bouncing back and forth off each other for years, neither knowing the other is so deeply in love with them (and maybe they didn't really know it was more than lust until later either.) Their banter is witty, sarcastic, and beyond sexy, it's just SO HOT!! I love listening to them arguing, it's so much fun!

Tarryn has so many feelings of abandonment and a lack of self worth. At a certain point she's decided she's the only one who's going to make the decisions for herself, and that will help her enjoy her life. But through this all she's still afraid of being left alone, so in the end she makes sure she leaves everyone. Even though she's tired of being left behind this is the only way she knows to protect her soul.

Connor, oh sweet Connor! He's such a grouch, but he's hiding that sweet squishy cinnamon roll underneath all that grouchy self to protect himself from all he's heard all his life. He too is tired of being abandoned and forgotten up in Connecticut, but even Tarryn forgot him (why did she not respond to those FB messages when he was trying so hard to apologize?) Connor is convinced his family sees him as nothing but a screw up, driving that beat up truck, and failing over and over to get himself out of the hole he's in. They don't see the amazing Dad, great friend, and honorable man willing to beat the cr*p out of anyone taking advantage of Tarryn when she won't stand up for herself.

The last little bit where Connor is Tarryn's true Hero when he finds who she's needed all her life, and protects her from yet another a**hole trying to take advantage of her in a tight situation just rocked my world. I just kept crying that Connor did all these things, that Kelsey is able to see what for some of us would be a lifelong dream and then put it to paper so beautifully!!

Five out of five stars for an epilogue that was out of this world, slightly funny - SO VERY Tarryn and Connor, and slightly sad. I can't WAIT to see what's coming next from Ms. Kingsley, and I would wait a lifetime for Jackson's story, even though he was such a jerk to Tarryn through so much of The Hero In Her Story.
