Tanner and Roo are super sweet with a side of world class stubborn!
Tanner and Roo have been best friends since they were little kids, but as Royce's (Roo) seizures have gotten worse his parents made the decision to take him back to Australia for surgery that could make his epilepsy more bearable. Five years later Rouce is back in Sumberry, Oregon to tell Tanner how he really feels, but nothing is ever as simple as it should be.
Roo spends weeks waffling back and forth on whether or not to tell Tanner his secret, remembering only the bad parts of high school, and not really seeing how things have changed since he's been gone. It is after all a tiny little town in America, what if Tammer rejects him, and all his negative experiences from high school come rushing back to greet him?
Tanner is determined to make sure that his Roo is here to stay this time, but when an ex-girlfriend overhears Roo telling Circus he is still not sure whether he is going to stay, Tanner is determined that this time if Roo leaves again he'll be going with him. He won't ever be separated from his best friend again, no matter what Roo's mother thinks of him.
If Tanner and Royce can't actually manage to figure out how to have an honest conversation with each other, to confront their biggest fears, and past demons, they'll end up alone again.
This new to me author gave me a sweet friends to Lovers story that had me in tears laughing over kangaroo jokes, and falling in love with Roo's sweet, grumpy personality, and Tanner's OTT need to take care of everyone around him. Steamy, sexy times and an awesome set of side characters that would meld nicely into a new book focusing on Circus, and their love interest! I can't wait to read more from Saxon James!!
